Acquisition: GBL and CVC Capital Partners invest in the medical device manufacturer Rayner Surgical Group

Groupe Bruxelles Lambert (GBL) invests alongside CVC Capital Partners to acquire a minority stake with co-control in Rayner Surgical Group (£39.5 million of revenue in 2020, South East / ENG), a medical device company specializing in the design, manufacture, and marketing of ophthalmic solutions, including intraocular lenses and technologies for cataract and refractive surgery. This investment will strengthen Rayner’s financial and strategic capacity, allowing it to accelerate its international growth, continue innovation in intraocular lens technologies, and expand its presence in global markets. Exit: NatWest Group acquires the financial management company Evelyn Partners

NatWest Group (formerly The Royal Bank of Scotland Group) (£14.7 million of revenue in 2024, Edinburgh & Lothians / SCT), a European banking group, acquires Evelyn Partners (formerly Tilney Smith & Williamson) (£656.6 million of revenue in 2023, London / ENG), a financial management company offering an online investment platform and investment advisory and financial planning services, for an amount of £2.7 billion. As part of this transaction, Permira, the majority shareholder since 2014, and Warburg Pincus, the minority shareholder since 2020, are selling their shares. The operation allows NatWest to become a leading UK wealth management firm by immediately gaining critical size, an expanded offering, and more diversified revenues, while providing Evelyn Partners with resources and a long-term platform to accelerate its growth (Permira, press release)

Acquisition: The cybersecurity platform GitGuardian raises $50 million

GitGuardian (Île-de-France / FRA), a cybersecurity platform that enables security professionals and developers to enhance code security and detect secrets (such as API keys, passwords, or other sensitive identifiers) in source code repositories, raises $50 million in a Series C funding round led by Insight Partners, with participation from Quadrille Capital and existing investors Balderton, Bpifrance, Eurazeo, Fly Ventures, and Sapphire Ventures. GitGuardian plans to use the raised funds to support its innovation in AI agent security, develop comprehensive non-human identity lifecycle management features, expand geographically, and enter new markets (Insight Partners, press release)
